According to statistics compiled by the New York State Department of Health, 59 percent of residents were overweight or obese in 2008 - 2009. 4. Paving starts today, expect traffic disruptions

From the town of Bedford: The following streets will be paved beginning the week of July 11th and the paving should take approximately two weeks to accomplish, weather permitting.

  • Loop Road
  • Whitlockville Road
  • Anderson Road (200’ from the intersection of Whitlockville)
  • High Street (From North to Steepway)
  • Sherwood Lane
  • Buxton Road
  • Hook Rd (paved sections only)
  • Guard Hill Road (Paved section between Clark & Old Post Road)
  • Mustato Road
  • Upland Road South (paved sections only)
  • Paddock Lane

Traffic and road access disruptions are possible. There will be no parking on the streets during paving. Vehicles on the street during paving operations will be towed. The scheduling of work depends upon weather conditions and the proper operation of paving equipment. Your patience and understanding are appreciated. 5. Lewisboro carnival starts tomorrow

The annual South Salem Fire Department Carnival is earlier and runs longer this year! Opening night is Tuesday, July 12th, running through Saturday the 16th, starting an hour earlier each night with the late night being Friday and the parade Wednesday as usual. Check out the schedule
