Often thought of during Thanksgiving or other holidays, food pantries still need donations at other times of the year. Right now, you can drop off necessary food items at the They especially need: breakfast cereal (hot and cold); canned meat and pasta (chili, beef stew, ravioli); small bags of rice (1 or 2 lbs); pasta (1 lb bag or box); juice (family size); canned fruit; baby food and diapers. Donations may be brought to the Center at 84 Bedford Road in Katonah from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
4. S'mores night is Thursday
Mark your calendars for popular "S'Mores Night" at the Katonah Memorial Park, hosted by the park association. This fundraising event is June 23 from 6:30 pm until 8 p.m. at the Katonah Memorial Park shelter, with musical entertainment by local band, the Differents, performing renditions from the 60s through the present. It will be a great evening of music for all ages! For information, call KMPA President Anne Hanley at 232-8017. S’Mores making kits and cold drinks will be available for sale.
