Two Locals Charged in Separate Gun Incidents
An 82-year-old and a 16-year-old allegedly violated the environmental conservation law which prohibits gunfire within 500 feet of a residence.

A Bedford Hills man and a Katonah youth were charged in separate incidents this week after police responded to reports of gunfire on residential properties.
On June 3, police responded to a report of gunshots heard on Beechwood Road in Bedford Hills. They arrived and interviewed Dominick Cutri, 82, who said he was attempting to shoot a woodchuck that was damaging his garden.
Cutri was charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, a misdemeanor and violation of state environmental conservation law. Cutri was released without bail pending an appearing in town court.

On June 6, police responded to a second call of reported gun shots on Goldens Bridge Road. They located a 16-year-old Katonah male resident with a .22 rifle, who told police he was shooting a tree stump for target practice. He was also scheduled for an appearance in town court.
Cos Cob man hits stone wall, charged with DWI
Bedford police responded to a single-car accident on Greenwich Road in Bedford on June 3. They said they found the driver, 20-year-old Philip Silbereisen of Cos Cob, and a passenger outside of their car when they arrived.

Police said the car, a 2002 Toyota Sequoia, had hit a stone wall and a fence and sustained significant damage. Silbereisen seemed disoriented, they said, and his speech was slurred. He and his passenger, who had head lacerations, were taken to Northern Westchester Hospital and treated for injuries. At the hospital they both refused chemical tests and were arrested and charged with DWI.
Cell phone talker arrested
Bedford police arrested Simon John Oram, a 39-year-old male from Mt. Kisco, on June 3. Police said they observed Oram talking on a cellular phone while driving in Depot Plaza in Bedford Hills. A computer check of his license revealed that he had failted to answer summonses in the towns of New Castle and Bedford. He was charged with driving while using a cell phone, third-degree unlicensed operation of a car, driving without a seat belt and failure to notify DMV of a change of address. He was released on $100 bail pending an appearance in town court.
Fox Lane bomb threat classified as aggravated harassment
The bomb threat that led to a school-wide evacuation at Fox Lane Middle School on June 2 is still being investigated, said police. Because the threat—"Bomb at 3:03 June 2" was scrawled on the wall but no devices were found, the incident is classified as aggravated harassment/criminal mischief for making a threat against the safety of students.
