VIDEO: Help and Hope for Those with Breast Cancer

The Hudson Valley's Support Connection is there for those who need to talk to someone in-person or on the phone regarding their breast cancer diagnosis.

Whether you live in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam or Dutchess County, breast cancer support services are just a short drive or a quick phone call away. Yorktown's Support Connection is a confidential support service for those affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Their groups focus on issues ranging from living with cancer, treatment and post-treatment. Groups are offered in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess, in addition to their teleconference groups.

AT NORTHERN WESTCHESTER HOSPITAL IN MOUNT KISCO

Breast Cancer Support Group: First Thursday of the month, November 3, at 7 p.m.

AT THE SUPPORT CONNECTION OFFICE IN YORKTOWN

Breast Cancer Daytime Support Group: First Thursday of the month, November 3, at 10 a.m.

Breast Cancer Evening Support Group: Fourth Tuesday of the month, November 22, at 7 p.m.

Young Women’s Breast Cancer Support Group: For women who have or had breast cancer at a young age. Second Wednesday of the month, November 9, at 7 p.m.

Support Group for Women Living with Recurrence: For women living with recurrence of breast or ovarian cancer, with advanced stage and/or metastasis. Third Friday of the month, November 19, at 12:30 p.m.

BY TELECONFERENCE

For those unable to attend groups in-person, there are monthly Telephone Support Groups via toll-free teleconference, enabling women to participate regardless of their location and from the comfort of their homes. Call a few days ahead to learn how to participate. The Ovarian Cancer Telephone Group will take place on Wednesday, November 9, at 8 p.m. The Telephone Group for Women Recently Diagnosed or In Treatment for Breast Cancer will take place on Wednesday, November 2, at 8 p.m.
