HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

This week, we are putting the spotlight on some opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

Head Start Professional Development Days
Volunteers are needed to assist in making a professional development event a success. Activities include setting up tables and chairs, preparing the classrooms, and tidying up after the event.

Invasives and Habitat Management at Zofnass Family Preserve
The Westchester Wilderness Walk at Zofnass Family Preserve is cherished for its diverse ecosystems with more than 400 species of vegetation across 127 sprawling acres. Join staff in cutting invasive vines, planting native trees, installing tree tubes, and practicing habitat restoration.

Waitlist Coordinator
A volunteer Waitlist Coordinator is needed to help IFCA Housing Network's team manage and maintain its client waitlist. Volunteers will help review applications, update records, and ensure affordable housing and voucher program compliance. This work directly impacts individuals and families within the community. Volunteers must be 21+.

Wakanda Celebration
Volunteers are needed to assist with the 8th Annual Wakanda Celebration outdoor event and cultural experience in Mount Vernon. Volunteers can support event setup and teardown, registration, art exhibition, food and beverage service, gift shop sales, and more. All volunteers must participate in an orientation on select dates.
