Wireless Zone Opens in Bedford Hills
And coming up is a tree planting to honor the memory of George Delany, a long-time Bedford resident who recently passed away.
1. Wireless Zone opens in Bedford Hills
There's a new place to get phones, accessories and a handy thing called a jet pack in town. Jet packs, for those of you who don't know (I didn't until yesterday) enable users to have secure wireless internet wherever there is WiFi for up to five devices. It's all there at Wireless Zone, Verizon Wireless, at 774 North Bedford Road in Bedford Hills. It fills a space that's been vacant for a while—it was used as a pop-up Halloween costume shop most recently. There's a grand opening on June 15 at 10 a.m. but in the meantime, stop in. If you do, and let your neighbors know what you think.

4. State Troopers Issue Thousands of Tickets Through Click It or Ticket Campaign
New York State Troopers issued 1125 tickets for violations of the state’s mandatory seatbelt laws during the May 21 – June 3 “click it or ticket” enforcement effort. During the zero tolerance enforcement campaign, troopers joined with local police and sheriffs’ departments statewide to encourage seatbelt use in advance of the summer travel season.
In addition to the 1125 safety restraint tickets issued by members of Troop K, troopers arrested 60 people for driving while intoxicated and ticketed 899 drivers for speeding.
