An exterior electrical fire set the garage roof ablaze Sunday on Johnson Place.
A neighbor noticed the smoke and reported the fire, according to fire officials. Upon arrival, Chief Christopher O'Brien responded and called in a code for a working house fire.
"With a rapid interior attack by the firefighters from Bellmore Engine 601 the fire was quickly extinguished preventing further extension of fire into the home," Vincent Scaduto, public information officer for Bellmore Fire Department said.Â
There were no injuries reported. The fire is under routine investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office.
