Hurricane Sandy Workshop, Breast Cancer Screening Program

A look at what's happening in and around Bellmore.

1.Project HOPE Central Nassau Guidance and Counseling Services Walk and Talk Recovery Support Group: Those affected by Hurricane Sandy can bring their families, friends and neighbors and walk and talk with Project HOPE crisis counselors. The event takes place every Tuesday at Newbridge Road Park in August.  

2.Hurricane and Emergency Preparedness Program: Assemblyman Dave McDonough, R,C,I-Merrick and Senator Charles Fuschillo will host the program at Merrick Road Park at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

3.Game Night For Teens and Tweens: Kids in grades five to 12 can enjoy an evening of Wii, arts and crafts, ping pong and Twister at the Bellmore Memorial Library on Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

4.Breast Cancer Screening Program: The free breast cancer screening program, sponsored by Senator Charles Fuschillo, will take place at the Merrick Public Library on Thursday from 8:45 a.m. to 12 p.m. Appointments are necessary and will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
