Nassau Man Charged In Hit-And-Run That Seriously Injured Teen: Cops
He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious injury and tampering with physical evidence, police said.

BELLMORE, NY — A Bellmore man has been arrested in connection with a crash on Tuesday that seriously injured a 14-year-old boy in North Bellmore, Nassau police said.
Edward Drexel, 60, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with serious injury and tampering with physical evidence, according to police.
At around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, the teen was walking at the intersection of Saw Mill Road and Jerusalem Avenue in the crosswalk, trying to travel westbound when he was struck by a white-colored van, police said.

The suspect's van then fled the scene in an easterly direction, police said, adding that the teen was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a fracture, lacerations, and bruising.
The collision caused two black-colored lower panels to fall off the suspect's van, police said.

Drexel will be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
