• Bellmore Herald Person of the Year: Stacy Brief leads the charge in tackling mental health (liherald.com) — A Bellmore-based social worker, Stacy Brief, is being honored for leading youth-focused suicide-prevention and mental health programs that grew out of Mepham High School and now reach schools across Bellmore, Merrick, and Long Island. Despite recent funding cuts that ended one major program’s Island work, she’s creating a new foundation and continuing panels, trainings, and summits to support local young people.
