Special Weather Statement Issued For Long Island

Be prepared for hazardous road conditions Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Long Island:

Temperatures will fall into the 20s this evening resulting in freezing of the heavy wet snow from today's nor'easter. Slush and standing water will likely freeze resulting in continuation of hazardous travel conditions.

Wednesday- A chance of snow showers after noon, mixing with rain after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 39. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. West wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Night- A slight chance of rain and snow showers before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. Breezy, with a west wind around 21 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday- Partly sunny, with a high near 44. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. West wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.

Thursday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 28. West wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Friday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 39. Breezy.

Friday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 25.

Saturday- Sunny, with a high near 41.
