2 Dogs Died, 3 Firefighters Injured In North Bellmore House Fire: FD

The North Bellmore Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to the call Monday evening, police say.

NORTH BELLMORE, NY — Two dogs died in a house fire on Monday night in North Bellmore, and three firefighters were injured while responding to the fire, police said.

Nassau County police said officers responded to Sacco Place, where they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the home at 6:14 p.m.

The North Bellmore Fire Department and neighboring fire departments, along with the Nassau County Fire Marshal and the Arson Bomb Squad, responded to the scene, police said.

The three firefighters who were injured were from the North Bellmore Fire Department and were transported to a local hospital, according to the FD. No other injuries were reported, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
