BRENTWOOD, NY — More than a dozen illegally parked vehicles were removed from a road in Brentwood on Friday, according to Suffolk County police.

Police said that in response to community complaints and a history of illegally parked vehicles on Suffolk Avenue, 13 vehicles without license plates were impounded by the Town of Islip.

Some of them were parked in no-parking zones and one was blocking a fire hydrant, police said. In addition, 11 illegally parked vehicles were removed voluntarily by the owners, police said.

According to the police, NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law requires number plates to be affixed to vehicles parked on public roads and all other parking regulations must be followed to avoid possible enforcement action and having a vehicle impounded.
