Central Islip Man Gets 8 Years In Prison For Cocaine Possession: DA
The man had at least 8 ounces of cocaine, among other items, in his home, the DA says.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A Central Islip man was sentenced to eight years in prison on Monday for possession of large amounts of cocaine to sell, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said.
Sean Mohan, 49, was found guilty by a jury at trial in November of charges including third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, for possessing a narcotic drug with the intent to sell it, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, prosecutors said.
He also received two years of post-release supervision after release, the DA said.

On August 6, 2021, Suffolk County police executed a court-authorized search warrant for narcotics at Mohan’s residence, according to evidence produced at trial.
Officers then recovered in excess of eight ounces of cocaine from several locations within the home, four digital scales, four cell phones, a drug ledger, and more than $1,100 in drug proceeds, prosecutors said.

In 2004, Mohan was also previously convicted of fourth-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance in Suffolk County Court, Tierney said.
“This previously convicted felon continued to endanger the community by once again selling
dangerous drugs for profit,” said Tierney. “This trial conviction sentence should
send a message that we will not tolerate persistent criminal activity. We will find you and hold you
accountable.”
