Central Islip Police Blotter: Grand Larceny And DWI

People arrested in connection with driving while intoxicated and stealing.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Central Islip area from April 29 through May 5.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • April 30: Peter Sanz of Lincoln Avenue in Islip Terrace stole copper housing from a "systems warehouse" and was charged with third-degree grand larceny, police said.
  • May 4: Ciera Pomales of Locust Street in Central Islip was driving eastbound on Sunrise Highway in a 2019 Hyundai Sonata when officers pulled her over for a traffic violation and noticed she had blood shot eyes. She was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of at least .08.
