Man Dies After Suffering Medical Incident Before Vehicle Crashes Into Center Median In Coram: Police
He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Suffolk police say.
CORAM, NY — A Patchogue man died after suffered what investigators believe to have been an apparent medical episode, and his vehicle crashed into a center median in Coram on Friday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
Michael Vogt was driving a 2012 Hyundai northbound on North Ocean Avenue, when it crashed into the center median just before 3 p.m., according to police.
Vogt, 63, of Patchogue was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced
dead, police said.

He worked for 18 years as a designer for Newsday's consumer marketing team, and "his talent and presence will be deeply missed," according to a message to staff that was cited in a news story on its website.
"During this difficult time, our thoughts are with Mike’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with him throughout his career," the message said, according to the outlet.

Vogt's Hyundai was impounded for a safety check, according to police.
