Driver Rear-Ends Car, Causes Rollover Crash In Islip: Police

A Subaru SUV overturned on Sunrise Highway Service Road​ on Tuesday after crashing into a woman stopped in a Nissan SUV, Suffolk police say.

ISLIP, NY — Firefighters from the Islip Fire Department responded to the scene of a rollover crash on Sunrise Highway Service Road Tuesday night, Suffolk County police told Patch.

A 44-year-old Central Islip woman was stopped in a 2006 Nissan SUV on the shoulder on Sunrise Highway Service Road between Roosevelt Avenue and Fuller Avenues when a 42-year-old Islip man driving a 2021 Subaru SUV crashed into her and overturned around 7:30 p.m., police said.

Fire department officials said there was no entrapment and both drivers sustained minor injuries.
