Duo Busted After Illegal Speed Contest On Long Island: Police

The pair were arrested after an illegal speed contest on Long Island in February, police say.

DEER PARK, NY — Two people were arrested on Wednesday after illegally street racing in Brentwood last month, Suffolk police said.

Police said they arrested a man and a woman on Wednesday for driving a Lexus GS 300 at a car meet-up in the parking lot of the Deer Park Railroad Station on Feb. 25.

The driver, Devin Chmielewski, 22, of Massapequa, was charged with two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment and one count of unlawful speed contest. A passenger, Adrianna Langone, 19, of Massapequa, was charged with unlawful speed contest, police said.

The Lexus was seized and Chmielewski and Langone were released on Desk Appearance Tickets and are slated to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date, police said.

Police indicted the investigation in conjunction with Suffolk County Criminal Intelligence Detectives, Nassau County Criminal Intelligence Detectives and Nassau County Police Eighth Precinct Officers.
