Man Abducts LI Woman Into Car, Drives To Brooklyn: PD
The woman was walking in Brentwood on Wednesday evening, when a man forced her into his car, police say.
BRENTWOOD, NY — A man has been arrested and charged after he abducted a woman in Brentwood, forced her in his car, and drove to Brooklyn on Wednesday night, Suffolk County police said.
Holmark Garces, 33, of Bay Shore, was charged with second-degree kidnapping and first-degree criminal contempt, police said.
At about 8:35 p.m., a woman was walking on Grant Avenue at Studley Street, when Garces forced her into a 1999 Toyota Corolla. Garces knew the woman, police said.

Witnesses called then 911 to report the incident.
Suffolk County Patrol units located the Corolla as it was traveling eastbound on Southern State Parkway. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the Garces evaded police and continued westbound, police said.

SCPD Aviation units also assisted in following the vehicle.
Garces continued driving through Nassau County into Queens and then onto the Belt Parkway to
Brooklyn, police said.
He then exited the highway in Bay Ridge, where he was apprehended by NYPD 68th Precinct
officers.
At about 11 p.m., Garces struck NYPD patrol units with his vehicle before he was taken into custody. The woman declined medical treatment at the scene, police said.
Following his arraignment, he will be transferred to Suffolk County.
