Man Dies After Jeep Goes Airborne Into 7-Eleven Off LIE

The man was pronounced dead at the scene early Saturday.

BRENTWOOD, NY - A 33-year-old man was killed after his Jeep went airborne and struck a 7-Eleven off a Long Island Expressway service road early Saturday, police said.

According to Suffolk Police, Brian McLaughlin was driving a 2016 Jeep Cherokee west on Express Drive North when he lost control. The Jeep went airborne and struck the 7-Eleven located at 260 Motor Parkway at approximately 2:25 a.m.

McLaughlin, of Bay Shore, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Jeep was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555, or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

In 2012, a Westbury man drunkenly drove his car into the side of the same 7-Eleven, killing his 10-month-old daughter.

McLaughlin was a New York State court officer.
