Man Sexually Abused Daughter, Faces 14 Years In Prison: DA
An Islip man was found guilty of sexually abusing his teen daughter and faces up to 14 years in prison, the Suffolk County DA says.
ISLIP, NY — An 56-year-old Islip man faces up to 14 years in prison after being found guilty of sexually abusing his daughter on numerous occasions, starting when she was just 15 years old, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney.
The evidence at trial established that in February 2023, following an incident of sexual abuse by her father, the victim, then 17, disclosed the abuse to one of her teachers, the DA said. Law enforcement spoke with the victim who reported that the defendant began grooming her in 2020 when she was 15 years old, the DA said.
According to the DA, the police recovered the shorts that the victim had been wearing during the February 2023 incident and sent them for DNA analysis, which revealed the presence of her father's semen.
