Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In Brentwood: Police

The man was crossing the street when he was struck, police say.

BRENTWOOD, NY — A man pedestrian fatally struck by a car while crossing a Brentwood roadway on Tuesday night, Suffolk County Police said.

Jason Goins, 46, of Brentwood, was walking northbound in the roadway on Crooked Hill Road, at Sagtikos State Parkway at about 10:15 p.m., when he was struck by a northbound 2021 Honda.

Goins was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

The driver of the Honda, a 19-year-old woman from Bay Shore, was not injured, police said.

The Honda was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
