Pedestrian Hit And Killed By Minivan On LI: Police

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a Dodge Caravan while crossing the street on Long Island early Saturday morning, Suffolk police say.

BRENTWOOD, NY — A pedestrian was hit and killed while crossing the street in Brentwood early Saturday morning, according to Suffolk County police.

Kojo Owusu, 30, of Brentwood was crossing eastbound Suffolk Avenue, near Fourth Street, around 4:53 a.m. when he was struck by an eastbound 2012 Dodge Caravan driven by Rosa Campos, police said.

Owusu was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Campos, 50, of Brentwood, was not injured and the Dodge Caravan was impounded for a safety check, police said.
