Teen Stabbed, Seriously Injured In Long Island Park: Police

A teenager was assaulted and stabbed in a Long Island park before being airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries, Suffolk police say.

BRENTWOOD, NY — A teenager was brutally stabbed at a Long Island park on Friday night, according to Suffolk County police.

Police said the victim, 16, who was with two other teenage boys, was sitting in a wooded area at the southern end of Roberto Clemente Park in Brentwood when four males approached and punched and hit the victim.

When the victim's friends saw they had knives, the friends ran to get help and, upon their return, found their friend had been stabbed multiple times in the back, police said.

The boy was transported via police helicopter to a hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
