Town of Islip First Half Property Taxes Due By Jan. 10

Town of Islip officials announced to local taxpayers that the first half taxes are due by Jan. 10.

ISLIP, NY — Town of Islip officials announced to local taxpayers that the first half taxes are due by Jan. 10 and the receiver of taxes has announced holiday hours.

In a statement on Friday, Islip Town Receiver of Taxes Andy Wittman announced that his office, located at 40 Nassau Ave. in Islip, will start accepting payment of 2024/2025 property taxes on Monday, Dec. 9

The office will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Dec. 31.

It will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25, and Jan. 1.

"One evening in January has been set aside for those residents who are unable to pay in person during our regular office hours," Wittman said. "On Friday, January 10, the office will remain open until 7 p.m."

Wittman said tax bills will be mailed out starting the week of Dec. 9. Residents can pay in person at Wittman's office, pay their taxes online, or mail in a payment. To avoid a penalty, all mailed payments must be postmarked by the U.S. Post Office no later than Jan. 10, 2025.
