'Unwavering Love': Services Set For Islip Town Supervisor's Husband
Joe Carpenter, the beloved husband of Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter, has passed away.
ISLIP, NY — The Islip community is mourning the death of the beloved husband of Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
Joe Carpenter, of West Islip, died on Nov. 16. He was 81.
According to his obituary, Carpenter passed away at Good Shepherd Hospice in Rockville Centre after facing "significant health challenges with remarkable resilience and courage" in his final years.

Those who knew Joe considered him a "steadfast presence" in their lives. The obituary said he was a "soft-spoken, gentle man," who "embodied kindness and dedication," and was "unwavering in his love and commitment to his family, always present with a steady hand and a warm heart."
The obituary said Carpenter was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He began his career as a land surveyor and later, co-founded and operated AC Type & Printing with his wife, Angie, for many years.

Carpenter was also dedicated to local youth and volunteered as a little-league baseball coach, youth football coach, and with the Boy Scouts, according to his obituary.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angie; his children, Richard (Stacey) and Robert (Elisangela); his brother, James (Teri); his sister-in-law, Mary; his grandchildren, Sydney and Joe; and many loving nieces and nephews.
His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and those fortunate enough to know him. He leaves a beautifully lived and deeply cherished life. May his gentle soul rest in peace, the obituary said.
A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at The Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home in West Islip, followed by a Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church on Friday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. A private cremation will follow.
