8 Bronxville High School Seniors Are Honored As 'Commended Students'

The honor is given annually to students who achieve exceptional scores on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

BRONXVILLE, NY — A group of exceptional students are making their mark on the world while they are still in school.

From the Bronxville Union Free School District.

Eight outstanding students from Bronxville High School — Ian Acharjee, Robert Brown, Kailee Fino, Dimitri Hanjis, Linnea Hentschel, Sean Jaquette, John Toal and Austin Waggoner — were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as Commended Students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Being recognized as a Commended Student is an honor given annually to outstanding students who achieve exceptional scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Although the Commended Students will not continue in the 2025 competition for scholarship awards, they placed among the top 50,000 students who took the qualifying test in 2023.
