Andrus Party in Tuckahoe

Picture books, decorating cupcakes and bright green stickers were everywhere, as were the smiles on both toddlers and teen faces.

Thanks to Andrus Director of Development Kevin Cook for the following:

16 lovely lasses from the Bronxville Youth Council presented a St. Patrick’s Day party for dozens of small children enrolled in the Andrus Early learning Center in Tuckahoe on March 18.  Picture books, decorating cupcakes and bright green stickers were everywhere, as were the smiles on both toddlers and teen faces.  Nina Richter, parent coordinator for the Council, applauded the girls’ efforts and energy:  “The Council members eagerly accepted the idea of hosting an after-school party for the little ones and threw themselves into preparing for it.   They had as much fun as the toddlers!”

The Council arrived at the Center in Tuckahoe’s Village Hall at 3 p.m. and within minutes divided into teams, gathering children around the small tables and sharing shamrock stickers.  Next came plain cupcakes destined for green icing, sprinkles and candies, all undergirded with leprechaun napkins.  Lastly, they gathered in the Carter Arts Wing Theatre in a big circle, little ones entwined with the teens who took turns reading childhood classics like Goodnight, Moon
