Polling locations such as Eastchester Middle School and the Bronxville School saw large turnouts Tuesday afternoon despite obstacles such as power outages and gas lines caused by Hurricane Sandy.

"I always vote and I knew that if my polling location was closed, I would have casted my ballot elsewhere," said Ruth Zimmerman, a 56 year-old Midland Gardens resident in Bronxville who was determined to get out her vote today.

"My car's gas tank is almost on empty but luckily I live within walking distance of my polling place," she continued.

Much like on other Election Days, voting officials in Bronxville said that the big rush of voters is likely to come late this afternoon and tonight, as commuters return home from Manhattan and other residents get off work.

Ashley Bavario, came with her two small children in tow and hopes that this election year will yields high voter turnout.

"With this being a Presidential Election and the country being very divided on many issues, I hope more people than ever before come out and vote and exercise their right as Americans," stated Bavario.
