BRONXVILLE-EASTCHESTER, NY — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from David Pasquale who nominated his son Matthew of Bronxville-Eastchester.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Matthew is a diligent student achieving great grades and academic success while challenging himself to become bilingual in his third year of Mandarin. He is on the Boys' Varsity Basketball team, is an assistant manager for the Boys' Varsity Lacrosse team, films for a variety of sports, and volunteers for the school's Bronco TV and Bronco TV junior. He is co-president of the school's film club. Matthew is also actively involved in the school's Special Needs programs, recently hosting a sensory-friendly film event and volunteering at SEC basketball.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Matthew consistently goes out of his way to include other students that may be otherwise overlooked, especially Special Needs students.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Matthew.
