The students were selected from almost a thousand students based on auditions at last spring’s New York State School Music Association festival. The highest-scoring students at the festival are invited to participate in the Area All-State music ensembles.
The Area All-State band and orchestra concerts will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2, and the chorus concert on Sunday, Nov. 3, at New Rochelle High School.
In addition, Wang and Bright are among an elite group of students to perform at NYSSMA’s All-State Winter Conference in December. Out of thousands of students from across the state who auditioned, they were selected to perform at the annual concert based on their perfect scores.
The All-State Winter Conference will be held at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre in Rochester, New York, on Dec. 4-7.
