Bronxville's Meter Mavericks

The owners of Topps Wine & Liquor have an interesting solution to dealing with downtown Bronxville parking meters.

Bronxville's Topps Wine and Liquor have a new approach to bringing more traffic to downtown businesses, giving free quarters to anyone who wants to park downtown.

The owners of Topps don't even ask you to buy anything at their store to get the free quarters. All you need to do is ask. Their workers actually have change dispenser belts, so they can shoot you a quarter right when you need it.

“We never want folks who were going to stop and shop in... Bronxville discouraged for fear they might get a parking ticket," said Topps Owner Heath Lachman. "Giving out change to help them feed their meter is a small contribution we can make. Parking fees and fines in Bronxville have become a challenge we frequently hear about from the public.”

Lachman says that the free quarter program will be in place through Easter and they may decide to continue offering the free quarters, depending on the response.
