Bronxville School Board Nominees Selected
David Brashear and Denise Tormey are incumbents running for a second term. If elected, Ruth Wood will be serving her first term.

Thanks to the NPC for the following:
The Bronxville Committee for the Non-Partisan Nomination and Election of School Trustees (“NPC”) is very pleased to announce David Brashear, Denise Tormey and Ruth Wood as its nominees for the three seats up for election on the seven member Board of Trustees. David Brashear and Denise Tormey are incumbents running for a second term. If elected, Ruth Wood will be serving her first term.
The 21 member NPC goes through a painstaking process each year to select the candidate that best suits the needs of the Bronxville School. This year, five extremely well qualified, talented candidates, including the three selected, participated in the nomination process. All candidates must submit an application to the NPC which includes personal statements as well as personal and professional references. The candidate is then interviewed by the 21 person NPC who, in preparation for the candidate interviews have met with standing Board of Education members as well as school administration to become informed of the most pressing challenges and needs of the school. The candidate’s references are contacted and interviewed. The committee collectively spends in excess of 500 hours in full committee meetings completing the nomination process. The NPC as a group endeavors to conduct the extensive due diligence that would otherwise be difficult for an individual to perform. Factors that are considered include the current composition of the Board, the pending issues facing the school, Board and community and the skill sets of each of the candidates. The 21 person committee is comprised of 3 elected residents from each of Bronxville’s seven electoral districts resulting in a cross section of residents with differing viewpoints who are in different phases of life in terms of school involvement.
