Eastchester Snack Shack Fire

The cause of the fire may be electrical.

Eastchester's Bravest responded to a fire at the Little League Field's snack shack at 11:30 p.m. last night. If you drive by the snack shack this morning it looks fine, except for the broken windows. Firefighters say they were able to quickly put out the fire.

"They got in there quick. We were out of there by 20 after 12 (a.m.). It was under control within 10 minutes," said Eastchester Fire Department Captain Bruce Yozzo.

The snack shack is a 20x30 foot, one-story structure located at 280 Garth Road. The Fire Department says $10,000-$15,000 damage was done during the late night fire. Investigators say that no one was in the snack shack when the fire started. At this time, officials think the cause of the fire may be electrical.

Eastchester Fire Department Captain Bruce Yozzo pointed out the unfortunate timing of the blaze.

"Unfortunately Little League Opening Day is this weekend, so it's bad timing," said Captain Yozzo. "But they can get it back into shape by then."
