Remembering Newtown in Eastchester
People in the Eastchester community took time to remember those in Sandy Hook and help donate to the cause.
It's a great example of people helping people. Eastchester students pitching in to help raise funds for people in Newtown. Here are the details of the effort from the School District:
During the month of February, Student Council members at Anne Hutchinson School participated in a fund raiser for the community of Sandy Hook in Newtown, CT. Children and staff decorated hearts with heartfelt messages and donated $1.00 to this cause. These hearts are currently displayed on the front lawn of Anne Hutchinson.
Motorists driving by the display honk to show their enthusiasm and appreciation of the student efforts. The Student Council raised approximately $400 which will be donated to the Sandy Hook foundation for building playgrounds in honor of the 26 victims.
