The Fountains at RiverVue hosts second annual Senior Prom
Retirement community residents have night to remember dining, dancing and singing with loved ones and associates
Prom season is coming to an end, but a group of area seniors from the Fountains at RiverVue will not soon forget the elation of their special evening. For the second year in a row, The Fountains at RiverVue - a Watermark Retirement Community - hosted its own version of a senior prom. This year, the associates elevated plans, moving the event to The Fairways at Dunwoodie for dinner and dancing with music courtesy of the Cadillac Brothers.
The preparation paid off in terms of residents’ reactions. “This was the best night of my life,” wrote resident Helen Criscione in the guest book. “Dancing the night away was like a blast from the past,” added another resident, Maria Aulicino.
The event came together under the direction of Community Life Director Reghan Giannelli, who was equally moved by the residents’ reactions and her associates’ willingness to pitch in off hours to ensure the residents enjoyed themselves.

“It was incredible to see the teamwork, which is a testament to all of our commitment to the same goal: our residents’ happiness and well-being,” said Giannelli. “At the end of the night, we all came together - residents, residents’ family members, our staff and even the Dunwoodie staff to dance together and sing. It was a moment we all shared and will remember.”
Johnny’s Flowers in Yonkers provided flowers for corsages that residents made prior to the dance. The formalities also included a crowning of a king, Soulhail Kanazeh, and queen, Marion Keegan.
