Man Tries To Lure Child Into Car In Bronxville: PD

Within two hours of the incident, an arrest was made, police said.

BRONXVILLE, NY — A person was accused Sunday of trying to lure a child into a car in the village of Bronxville.

The Bronxville Police Department said, shortly before 3 p.m., information was received about the man whose car was parked on Park Place when he offered an 11-year-old child a ride home.

Authorities said an alert bystander heard the conversation, removed the child from the location and called 911.

Within two hours, Bronxville police arrested the man, whose name was not released, and charged him with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

The man was released on his own recognizance.

Police officials said they have been in touch with school officials in the village and will continue their "stranger danger" education programs in the spring.
