Mayor on Future of Tuckahoe
Steve Ecklond is detailing his plans for our village, as he moves into his new term as Tuckahoe's mayor.

On the heels of winning re-election, Tuckahoe Mayor Steve Ecklond is talking about his plans for our village. The Republican mayor ran unopposed in the Tuesday election.
Going forward, Ecklond says he wants to get the municipality setup with a part-time village administrator. The person in that position would "implement and follow through on the various changes" that the Village will be making throughout all Village departments.
The re-elected mayor says he also has his sights set on the village's Depot Square.
"I am looking to work on the final design and implementation of renovating the Depot Square area and creating a downtown village green space that maintains the current level of parking for the businesses, but also creates an outdoor park setting where our residents can walk to and gather."
Working with the Citizen Budget Advisory Committee is also at the top of the mayor's to-do list.
"I am going to evaluate the suggested recommendations proposed by the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee with the Village Board when the report is submitted to us in the next month. We will take a hard look at the suggested ways and means of achieving our goals of cost effective consolidation of services."
