Men Arrested at Tuckahoe Teen Drinking Party

Police say the two men arrested were the father and uncle of the teen who held the drinking party that was attended by Tuckahoe high school students.

Tuckahoe Police say Hyun C. Shin, 62 and his brother, Hyun K. Shin, 57, allowed about 50 Tuckahoe High School students to drink at their home. The Thursday night party happened at the Shin's home, which is located at 5 Minturn Road.

The two brothers were arrested for unlawfully dealing with a minor and endangering the welfare of a child. They are due back in court today. One of the men is the father of the teen who hosted the party. The other man is the uncle of the teen.

On Thursday night, police got a report of a large, loud party on Minturn Road. When officers arrived at 10:51 p.m., there were about 50 teens from Tuckahoe High there. The students ranged from ages 16-18.

A number of the teens tried to run away when officers arrived, but Tuckahoe and Bronxville Police were able to corral the students. Investigators say the party was being held in the home's basement, which is where police found vodka and beer.

Police say the party was a continuation of a "seniors dinner," which was held at the high school.

Police called the parents of the dozens of teens who were at the home so they could bring them home.
