[UPDATE] Low Gas Pressure Problems in Bronxville Cleared, Homes Affected Inspected

Area involved: Kensington Road, Beverly Road, Minturn Road.

UPDATE (4:30 P.M.) - A gas problem in Bronxville has been cleared, according to Con Edison.

Con Edison says they found a low pressure problem with gas service in the area and an investigation discovered a blockage in a pipeline. Con Ed crews used a special camera to locate the blockage.

With the problem clear, crews inspected homes in the area to be certain service was working properly.

Village police sent out their "thanks" today to village residents who responded to an alert that went out today seeking residents to help provide Con Ed crews with access to homes affected.

The police alert initially listed the problem as a gas leak in the area, but Con Ed said the pressure problem was caused by the blockage, and there was no leak.

A gas problem on Kensington Road has led Bronxville Police to issue an alert seeking assistance from residents in the area.

Police say crews from Con Edison and the fire department are working at the scene of a gas problem on Kensington Road. Because of the leak, Con Ed crews need to gain access to homes in the area.

The areas affected are:

- Kensington Road between Avon Road and Beverly Road.

- Beverly Road

- Minturn Road.
