The programs are designed for pre-college students exploring digital media and individuals applying to film programs

Sarah Lawrence College is pleased to announce three new non-credit programs launching this spring in the areas of Generative AI and film portfolio development. Designed for curious and creative pre-college students exploring digital media and film as well as individuals planning to apply to film school, the courses offer a valuable blend of expert guidance and hands-on experience.
Intro to GenAI in Visual Storytelling
Working with experts from global powerhouse Paramount, students in this in-person, one-week course will discover the creative possibilities of Generative AI in filmmaking. Through structured exercises and project-based learning, students will explore the tools and techniques of Generative AI through the creation of a short project such as a music video, ad, or a movie trailer. By the end of the course, students will have an understanding of how to integrate AI-generated content into their creative workflow. This course is ideal for filmmakers, writers, and creatives looking to explore the potential of Generative AI. Students must be between ages 16 and 22 to participate; no prior AI experience is required.
