Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Dance Performance Helpers

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

This week, we are putting the spotlight on some opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

Sort and Pack Food for Nutrition and Wellness Workshops
Healthy eating can lead to better learning for young children. An expert will provide a cooking demo and serve prepared food for families, who will then be provided with recipes and bags of groceries so they can make the same dishes at home. Volunteers are needed to help sort and bag the food for the families during each workshop. This is a perfect activity for volunteers 16+.
Date: 3/4-3/25 from 8:30-10 a.m; Tuesdays

Dance Performance Helpers
Join American Dance Theatre in bringing the magic of dance to life! The organization is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help with upcoming performances for various roles, including ushering, backstage assistance, front-of-house support, and more. No prior experience is needed—just a passion for the arts and a willingness to help!
Date: 3/9 from 4-8 p.m.

GED Tutors for Adult Students
Ten Talent Ministries is an adult education center that helps people pass the GED exam in order to receive their high school diploma and obtain meaningful employment. The organization is seeking adults interested in tutoring others in basic math, reading, and writing skills. All materials are provided and volunteer tutors work one-on-one with their students in a shared coworking space.
Date: Monday-Thursday from 3:30-4:30 p.m.; flexible schedule

Food Pantry Associates
Adult volunteers are needed to help stock shelves, pack pantry bags, and keep the food pantry clean and welcoming for those who are facing food insecurity in Westchester County.
