Cherry Blossom Nights Bloom Again In Brooklyn: What To Know
Don't be a late bloomer—get ahead of New York City's cherry blossom season this year.
BROOKLYN, NYC — Spring is almost in bloom, and Brooklyn is getting ready to showcase its collection of cherry blossoms once again this year.
"The cherry trees haven’t started blooming yet," according to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's website.
Early-blooming cherry varieties are expected to start appearing in the next few weeks, with ornamental cherry trees in bloom from late March to mid-April, depending on the variety.

The museum keeps tabs on its cherry blossoms with an interactive online tracker, which updates the status of over 200 trees, from pre-bloom to post-peak bloom.
This year, marking its highly anticipated return, tickets are already on sale for the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Hanami Nights, where visitors can stroll through the garden and enjoy the cherry trees illuminated at night.

Viewings begin on April 22 and run through April 25, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Attendees can stroll through the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden and along Cherry Walk, try their hand at origami, and admire a curated bonsai display in the Lillian and Amy Goldman Atrium.
Guests can also make a meal of the experience, purchasing sushi, bento boxes, and other Japanese favorites from a special menu created in collaboration with Sunrise Mart, Saiko Sushi, and Joto Sake, and enjoy a picnic under the cherry blossoms.
Performers will also entertain garden visitors with traditional Japanese music, jazz, folk dancing, and immersive samurai sword performances, followed by a hands-on boot camp.

Cherry blossoms can also be spotted around Brooklyn at McCarren Park between Williamsburg and Greenpoint, Green-Wood Cemetery in Park Slope and Prospect Park between Prospect Heights and Park Slope.
