2 NYPD Officers Hit By Hit-And-Run Driver In Brooklyn, Police Say

Two police officers were injured during a traffic stop in the Gravesend section of Brooklyn on Tuesday morning.

BROOKLYN, NY — Police are searching for the driver who they say hit two police officers with a car after getting pulled over on Tuesday morning.

Police said the incident occurred around 4:39 a.m. Tuesday, near the intersection of West 8th Street and Quentin Road in Gravesend, when officers stopped a vehicle for running a red light.

As the officers exited their patrol car, the driver of a gray Mercedes suddenly put the vehicle in reverse, striking the cops, officials said.

EMS rushed both officers to a local hospital for treatment of minor leg injuries, where they were listed in stable condition, police reported.

The driver fled the scene westbound on Quentin Road in a gray Mercedes, police said.
