Developer Buys Music Hall Of Williamsburg After Closure Plans Announced
Opened in 2007, the Music Hall of Williamsburg had already planned to close when its lease ends later this year.

BROOKLYN, NY — Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, poised to close after almost 20 years, has been bought in a surprise move by a Williamsburg developer.
The Music Hall, which opened in 2007 in the space formerly occupied by the smaller rock club Northsix, had announced it would shut down when its lease at 66 North Sixth Street expires at the end of 2026.
The venue became part of AEG in 2017 through a deal with Bowery Presents, which co-owns the hall. Current management said shows will continue at the venue through the rest of the year, but the long-term future remains uncertain.

Records first reported by Crain’s show that Weitzman finalized the deed on Dec. 11, though the sale contract had been signed months earlier—well before news of the lease non-renewal became public. The 10,000-square-foot property was purchased for $14 million, according to the city register.
Weitzman is no stranger to Williamsburg real estate.

In 2022, he acquired the four-story commercial building at 83 Wythe Avenue from Cayuga Capital for $20 million. Designed by Archimaera Architecture and developed by Double U Development, the 84-foot-tall structure contains 88,680 square feet of commercial space.
According to reports, the building was initially expected to be completed in fall 2026. However, it remains unclear whether the anticipated timeline will be met.
