Honor MF DOOM At Brooklyn Museum This Week On His Death Anniversary
The Brooklyn Museum is hosting a book talk with the author of the reclusive rapper's brand-new biography.
BROOKLYN, NY — This Halloween, the Brooklyn Museum will host a celebration of the legendary masked rapper MF DOOM for the release of his biography, "The Chronicles of DOOM: Unraveling Rap’s Masked Iconoclast."
The book chronicles the reclusive rapper's rise in New York, from his childhood in Long Beach to his first masked show, with interviews from Doom's closest collaborators and confidants, and breaks down his discography line by line, track by track.
The event coincides with the rapper's untimely death at age 49, on Oct. 31, 2020, and will include a conversation between the biography's author S.H. Fernando Jr., illustrator Lamour Supreme, and journalist Courtney Brown, moderated by writer and cultural critic Hanif Abdurraqib.
