Human Skull Found Off Coney Island Boardwalk, Police Say
Authorities say an apparent human skull was discovered in bushes along the boardwalk Tuesday evening.

BROOKLYN, NY — Police are investigating after an apparent human skull was uncovered near the iconic Coney Island Boardwalk Tuesday night.
The NYPD says police units responded to a 911 call Tuesday evening after human remains were discovered in the bushes off Riegelmann Boardwalk, between West 32nd and West 33rd Streets, just before 6 p.m.
It’s unclear how long the skull had been there, and the Medical Examiner is still working to determine the cause of death, police said.

The identity of the remains is not yet known, and police said the investigation remains ongoing as of Wednesday.
