Park Slope Sale Sets Record, First Over $12 Million In Years: Report
A $13.5 million sale on Prospect Park West set a local sale record for pricey townhouse sales, The Real Deal reported.

PARK SLOPE, NY — It's the gold standard for ethics in Brooklyn and now, the gold standard for pricey Park Slope sales.
The $13.5 million sale of the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture's Park Slope townhouse set a local record for pricey townhouse sales, The Real Deal reported. And it's the first sale over $12 million since 2017.
The townhouse sat on Prospect Park West between Garfield Place and 1st Street was home to the society for years, representatives said.

"Generations of members, friends, and community groups have fond memories of our years at 53 Prospect Park West. We are honored to have been a part of the rich history of this beautiful building since 1947," representatives of the society said on its website.
The society offloaded the property in an off-market deal to an undisclosed buyer, but the listing was affiliated with Compass, The Real Deal reported.

Now, the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture is moving to 6 Garfield Place, home to a massive new property called Six Garfield.
But a townhouse broker with Leslie Garfield told The Real Deal other pricey townhouses are being "quietly shopped" that could blow this record soon.
Brooklyn townhouses are a hot commodity. According to a July report from StreetEasy, townhouse sales in Brooklyn rapidly outpaced those in Manhattan despite some cooling compared to the year before.
The median asking price for a townhouse in Brooklyn was $3 million in 2023, the same as the year before, StreetEasy reported in July.
