21 Pro-Palestinian Protesters Arrested At Macy's Thanksgiving Parade: Reports

The protest briefly disrupted the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade for the second straight year, the reports said.

NEW YORK, NY — Protesters carrying Palestinian flags and a banner reading "Don't Celebrate Genocide" were arrested Thursday morning after they briefly disrupted the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, according to reports.

There were 21 people arrested after they sat down on the parade route, the Associated Press reported, citing the New York Police Department.

The group ran in front of the Ronald McDonald float, jumping barricades at West 55th Street about 9:30 a.m., ABC7 reported.

Video posted to X (formerly known as Twitter) showed the protesters sitting in the street with arms locked, chanting "Free, free Palestine" as parade spectators boo in the background.

For the second year in a row, the group ran in front of the Ronald McDonald float to briefly stop the parade.

The disruption lasted about 5 minutes, and charges are pending against those arrested, the New York Post reported.
