Study The Zodiac, AI And More At Brooklyn's Free Open Air University
The free, wide-ranging workshop series at the Prospect Park boathouse is back for its 10th year.
BROOKLYN, NY — Brooklyn's Open Air University is back for its 10th year of free classes and workshops taught by immigrant New Yorkers this week.
Starting Sept. 19, the Prospect Park boathouse will be transformed into an outdoor classroom for teachers to share their expertise on a range of topics, including French literature, salsa music, food preservation science, Chinese Zodiac signs, and artificial intelligence.
This year, the teachers hail from more than a dozen different countries, including Venezuela, Mauritius, Tibet and Uganda.

As part of the series, there will also be three musical performances. On Sept. 21, composer and guitarist Robert Granados will perform, and on Sept. 22 and 29, cellist Sarah Overton will perform.
The series runs until Sept. 29 and is hosted by Brooklyn Public Library and Prospect Park Alliance, the nonprofit that cares for Prospect Park.
